My Medicare Matters Navigator Pilot Program Application

The My Medicare Matters Navigator Pilot Program is designed to create a resource within senior centers and other community organizations that will train and guide seniors through a self-paced curriculum where they will learn about Medicare Web-based resources. Seniors will be assisted by a project-trained staffer or volunteer (the Navigator) in computer labs to explore their Medicare options and get answers by surfing specific, credible Web sites that the project will identify.

My Medicare Matters will support participating centers with a $1,000 stipend; comprehensive, hands-on training; guidance on Web-based resources; and ongoing technical assistance to support the initiative. In the initial pilot phase, 150 senior centers and other locations will be chosen to participate. These pilot sites will be asked to join all training events, report on the progress of the pilot and cooperate in assessing its effectiveness.
