People With Medicare
How much will the Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage cost me?
Because you have Medicaid, you automatically qualify for Extra Help paying for your Medicare prescription drug costs.
You will pay:
- No monthly premium,
- No deductible, and
- No more than $6.60 in 2013 ($6.35 in 2014) when you fill a prescription your plan covers. Depending on your situation, you may not have a co-pay at all.
When you qualify for Extra Help, you qualify for the entire calendar year. You may see ads that show your plan with a deductible and higher copays. Those costs will not apply to you because you qualify for Extra Help.
If you join a plan that has a premium higher than the average premium for your region, you will have to pay the difference.
If you live in an institution like a nursing home, you will have no premiums, deductibles or copays for your drugs.
