People With Medicare
Step 7: Next Steps
What should I do now to get ready?
- Apply for extra help with costs using BenefitsCheckUp if you think you might qualify.
- Record the names and costs of your current drugs.
- Talk with your doctor about your drugs. Ask which ones are on the plans’ drug lists, called formularies. If your drugs are not on the formularies, ask if the formulary has a drug you can take instead—and how you should switch over to this drug.
- If you need help, ask your family or friends to help you.
If you make less than $15,315 ($20,535 for a couple), you should apply for extra help with costs.
